Get ready to fall in love with Kizomba! ❤️ Were thrilled to announce that Jennifer Barreto of Orlando Kizomba is coming to The Dance Factory Tampa Bay to teach a monthly Kizomba Workshop on 4th Sundays, from 2 PM - 4 PM!

Kizomba is a beautiful, romantic partner dance from Angola, with the word Kizomba meaning party in Kimbundu! In this immersive workshop, youll learn the origins, basic steps, rhythm, and timing, along with essential leading and following techniques.

Whether youre brand new to Kizomba or looking to refine your moves, youll love the playful nature and close connection this dance offers. Come let loose and express your inner Ginga (feminine) and Banga (masculine) as we explore the rich musicality of this expressive dance together!

Ticket prices include the dance social event until 9pm right after!

Meet Your Instructor: Jennifer Barreto

Jennifer Barreto is a passionate and experienced dance instructor with a lifelong journey rooted in movement and rhythm. She began dancing as a child with a foundation in jazz and hip hop, later expanding her repertoire to salsa during graduate school. Her performance career has taken her to stages across New Orleans, St. Louis, Washington D.C., and throughout Florida.

Jennifer discovered Kizomba just before the pandemic and quickly immersed herself in the dance’s rich culture and technique. She has trained extensively with renowned international instructors, including Enah Lebon and Carlos & Anna. Her commitment to the art of Kizomba led her to teach her own class at Nuevolution Dance Studio in South Florida.

Now based in Central Florida, Jennifer is a teacher and organizer with OKZ – Orlando Kizomba, where she continues to build community and share her love for the dance through instruction and event coordination. Her teaching blends musicality, connection, and a deep respect for the roots of Kizomba.
