Takeshi Young is a salsa dancer, choreographer and competitor based in San Jose, California.

Takeshi has over 20 years of experience as a dancers and 15 years as a salsa dance coach.

He started his dance journey in college at San Jose State University, and went on to perform with Pretty Boys & Girls, one of the top salsa dance teams in the world at the time. He then joined Salsamania Dance Company where he learned how to dance on2, and competed with the team several times at the World Latin Dance Cup.

He is the founder of Spartan Mambo, a college salsa dance team at San Jose State University which has won more collegiate titles than any other college salsa dance team.

He is also the founder of Salsa Vida, the largest site on the web about salsa dancing, which features articles, news, apps and a salsa dance calendar covering over 2,500 events from 25 countries around the world.
